(The Rime of the Ancient Mariner),興沖沖跑去翻當年的英詩課本"Sound and Sense",沒尋著這首長詩,想必是在諾頓版的英國文學全集裡吧.
SONG
The year's at the spring,
And day's at the morn;
Morning's at seven;
The hillside's dew-pearled;
The snail's on the thorn;
God's in his heaven----
All's right with the world!
Robert Browning

DIRGE
Rough wind, that moanest loud
Grief too sad for song;
Wild wind, when sullen cloud
Knells all the night long;
Sad storm, whose tears are vain,
Bare woods, whose branches strain,
Deep caves and dreary main,---
Wail, for the world's wrong!
Percy Bysshe Shelley
DUST OF SNOW
The way a crow
Shook down on me
The dust of snow
From a hemlock tree
Has given my heart
A change of mood
And saved some part
Of a day I had rued.
Robert Frost
GIFT
You tell me that silence
is nearer to peace than poems
but if for my gift
I brought you silence
(for I know silence)
you would say
This is not silence
this is another poem
and you would hand it back to me.
Leonard Cohen
