游牧人生宛如淡淡的輓歌,呈現女主角芬恩的失落以及公路流浪的眾生相,漂泊的靈魂相濡以沫,最是感人.看似失意的人生,卻有文學的,心靈的骨架,傲然挺立,勝過平庸的腦滿腸肥.
電影裡引用了兩首詩.其一,芬恩在超市遇見以前代課教過的女生,問她:"你還是班上最聰明的學生嗎?還記得我教你的嗎?"小女孩點點頭,朗誦出一首詩,我跟不太上,卻覺得很熟,後來一查,是莎士比亞馬克白裡的詩:
Tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow,
Creeps in this petty pace from day to day
To the last syllable of recorded time,
And all our yesterdays have lighted fools
The way to dusty death. Out, out, brief candle!
邁入暮年之際,字字說中吾心.然而,以下的詩行,令我驚訝:
Life’s but a walking shadow, a poor player
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage
And then is heard no more: it is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing.
這不是我高一在英文課本上學的嗎?我還背得出來呢!時光忽忽,當年不懂的,現在毫無滯礙,完全瞭然.是的,sound and fury,說得真好,難怪佛克納要拿來當書名.
其二,芬恩和曾跟她要菸抽的年輕人再次相遇.君子之交,淡泊中有溫暖的關心.年輕人自述寫信給女友卻無交集.
”試過寫詩嗎?”芬恩問.
”不會寫,甚至也沒讀過.”他答.
於是芬恩悠悠唸出她婚禮時朗讀的一首詩:
Shall I compare thee to a summers day?
噢!這我知道!但年代久遠,早已忘了是莎翁的十四行詩.英國文學課堂上,丁貞婉老師以銀鈴般的聲音與純正的腔調朗誦,優雅的音容,深印我的腦中.那是青春正盛的時代.
Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate;
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer’s lease hath all too short a date:
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimmed;
